History & Objectives
Founded in 1987 under the vision and leadership of Br. Rolando Dizon, FSC, a distinguished Lasallian Brother and former President of De La Salle University, St. Benilde School stands as a beacon of Lasallian education in Lasalleville, Mansilingan, Bacolod City. Established as a private, Catholic, and co-educational institution, the school continues to embody the timeless Lasallian values of faith, service, and community, providing quality education anchored in Christian values and academic excellence.
Named after St. Bénilde Romançon, who is renowned for his motto “doing ordinary things extraordinarily well,” the school draws inspiration from his life of simplicity, faith, and dedication to teaching. In its formative years, St. Benilde School operated under the supervision of the University of St. La Salle and the De La Salle Brothers, ensuring the faithful integration of Lasallian educational principles in all aspects of its curriculum and community life. Today, the school proudly belongs to the Association of Lasallian Affiliated Schools (ALAS), continuing to uphold the mission of the Brothers of the Christian Schools (FSC).
Over the years, St. Benilde School has expanded its academic programs, offering both elementary and secondary education (from Primary to Grade 10). It serves students from Mansilingan and its neighboring communities such as Lasalleville, St. Benilde Homes, Grandville, Hillside, Forest Hills, Terranova, Woodside and Regent Pearl. Known for its vibrant student life, strong moral foundation, and dynamic extracurricular programs, the school has become a nurturing home where young Benildeans are formed to become competent, compassionate, and committed individuals — faithful to God and dedicated to service.
As it celebrated its 37th founding anniversary in 2024, St. Benilde School continues to move forward with renewed zeal and commitment to the Lasallian mission — forming hearts, touching lives, and transforming communities through education. With its colors green, black, and white, and its symbol — the Archers — St. Benilde School proudly lives the Lasallian legacy of faith, zeal for service, and communion in mission.
St. Benilde School aims to form students who are academically competent, morally upright, spiritually grounded, and socially responsible. Guided by the Lasallian core values of Faith, Zeal for Service, and Communion in Mission, the school strives to:
Provide quality Christian education that nurtures the total development of each learner — intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically.
Instill Lasallian values that inspire students to live out faith in God through daily acts of kindness, integrity, and service to others.
Develop academic excellence and critical thinking by equipping students with 21st-century skills necessary for lifelong learning and responsible citizenship.
